Brunost - Heidals Ost
The Heidal cheese is a dark type of Gudbrandsdal cheese with a powerful, round, and caramel-like taste. Long cooking time, good craftsmanship and good ingredients give this cheese its award-winning taste.It is a strong symbol of Norwegian culture and tradition. Heidal ysteri are the only producer in the country of this formshaped cheese. This is used especially for Christmas, and as gifts for the rest of the year. A local woodcarver made the molds in which the cheese is stuffed.
